lesson-4

How Big Are You? Using teardrop in painting. What makes this form float? Reference source is a photo taken by my son Dan of Ålesund, Norway. The results remind me of Jewish shetls paintings I have seen. I didn’t plan it that way. The steps leading to the finished watercolor were planned. As I look back to the process, there was a lot of planning before I even started painting! Cropped photo, pencil sketch, value study, enlarged image, tracing, color charts, and finally I got to paint! A very busy and detailed painting. Look at the details up close.
